Ask Marie – February 2018

Hello Marie,

Recently I found out that my grandfather (who died before I was born) was a healer; he had the gift of stopping bleeding. Apparently, he wanted to pass this gift on to his oldest son who refused the gift, stating that he didn’t want that responsibility. As far as I know, the gift was not passed on to anyone else. At the same time, I learned that my great-grandmother was a midwife/ healer as well. I just found out that my mother has his great grandmother’s medical book from the 1800’s and it feels like this book calls to me, although my mom has been its keeper all this time. Can you tell me about the energy surrounding these healing gifts, the book and what this might mean for me?

Thank you for considering my questions. I appreciate your guidance.
Nicole

Hello Nicole,

What wonderful stories of healers in your family! What I know comes mostly from my own experience and the few stories I have heard from other healers. Gifts, whatever they may be, tend to skip generations. But what I’ve learned is that, just like all passions, awareness and devotion are key to sustaining gifts and allowing them to grow. In my family, I clearly remember my younger sister’s gift of clairvoyance when we were both quite young. I had no doubt of her abilities and was completely taken aback when it was I who harnessed insight. Attention to one’s passion is key to the gift’s accuracy, as practice makes perfect…or the best it can be. In other words, even if someone shows promise of a gift, their lack of enthusiasm or desire to clear internal negative beliefs will stifle the process. In a few cases I have seen gifted individuals literally cast their gifts aside, not wanting to do the conscious work required to mature the gift. This is why you have not seen others in your family acquire the gift. I do believe that the gift is calling you. This is why you’re gaining historical information at this time. One of the best ways to get to know your gifts is to meditate regularly. Creating a healthy space from the over thinking fearful mind will unleash what is already there. I wish you a great adventure!!

Love,
Marie

Dear Marie,

Thank you so much for all the wonderful work you do everyday, you inspire me always! My family is in need of more income and I have been a stay at home mom for years now. I love doing it, although I feel pulled to find my passion and hopefully apply it to making money. I’ve been pressured into finding a part time job, which is very part time, however, I am so aware of how sensitive I am that I am seriously struggling just to get through a 6-hour shift. My town is small and jobs are very limited unless you create your own business. I am sensitive to florescent lights, overstimulation, lack of movement, lack of fresh air, not enough breaks, which are the conditions I’m working in. Please offer me any advice you can as to how I can find part time work that sustains me or even better, how I can truly find my magnificence….

Much love,
Cherie

Hello Cherie,

You are very welcome!! I do feel that it is normal to have meaningful and uplifting work that is also energizing. In order to allow work into your life that fills the desired checklist, you will need to stop focusing on the negative conditions of your current work place. Whatever we focus on sends energy to our future experiences. Luckily, you have identified what doesn’t work for you. Recognizing the contrast is crucial. The next step is to focus your attention to the positive parts of your current work situation, no matter how small or insignificant the focus is. Transferring your focus while working will align your energy towards a grateful work experience.

Love,
Marie

Hello Marie,

This summer, I heard you talk about the energetic patterns of dementia. It was very enlightening as I reflected on family members with that diagnosis. I have found myself thinking about that recently and wondered if you would have any insight about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

I struggled in school and was diagnosed with ADD around college. Things have improved since then with increased self awareness and more control of my environment. However, it is all coming back to me this Fall b/c it appears that I have passed the genes or patterns on to my son. I think he has a beautiful empathic soul and likely has many gifts to offer the world. It is breaking my heart to see him struggle in school and to start to internalize negative ideas about himself. I want to believe there is another perspective about these traits and a solution besides medication. Do you have any thoughts?

Thank you,
MB

Hello MB,

Thank you for writing this important question. These type of diagnosis, ADD, ADH, ADHD…and so on, have captured the fears of many parents and individuals. I wrote about this topic in my book Intuitive Self-Healing. Just like in nature when something needs to change, and it does not, a reaction occurs to highlight the thing that energetically requires change. I believe that young children need to move their bodies. Today’s children are sedentary more often than not. I’m sure if your son had school outside while climbing trees, his grades would reflect his genius. Look around for alternative schools, and please do not project your historical discomfort on to him. Instead, ask him how he thinks he can best absorb information while sharing his brilliance in a school environment. Kids are naturally wise and know what is in their best interest.

Love,
Marie

Hi Marie,

I was submitting this for your newsletter – I really hope I’m not the only one with this problem, strange as it is. I’m pretty sure I can pass a psych eval, but some days I’m not so sure.

About a year ago, I was living life like a very normal person, slightly disappointed with my events and situation, but you know, a really good, upstanding person. Then I went to a birthday party, a married guy walked in, there was a shock or something and now… I’ve left my church, I’ve moved homes (currently in-between but not worried), I’m getting divorced, and the psychic phenomenon and energy experiences have been nothing short of other worldly.

In short, my life is upside down, and yet I know I’m very fortunate. I have met some people who have helped me, some friends have decided to love me even though I’ve left my church, and I’m following a new path, but I want to know… will I ever find a new normal? Everything is still in flux, and I would like a safe place for a while.

Thank you,
Cerah

Dear Cerah,

Change can be challenging, even when the change is short of miraculous. When aligning with the authentic self the fit is freeing, and may quickly feel more normal than the choices we leave in the dust. You have embraced your authenticity!! It may take a while for the world around you to recognize your new vibration. In the meantime, the old may continue to fall away, but once your vibration steadies itself, situations, people and experiences will calibrate with you. You are not crazy, you’re just waking up. Congratulations!

Love,
Marie

Hi Marie,

You talk so much about the Eat Right for Your Blood Type diet. It does make sense to me. However, as a Blood type A person, I should thrive with a vegetarian diet. I have tried several times and each time after being on a vegetarian diet, I feel terrible and my iron levels go really low despite supplementation. Your thoughts?

Thank you, Marie!
Julie

Hello Julie,

Actually, Eat Right for Your Blood Type, suggest that A’s eat seafood. When following this eating suggestion do your best to eat the foods that are considered beneficial…or in other words…anti-inflammatory. There are also neutral meats, like chicken and turkey, for A blood types too. Also, according to this type of food suggestion, dairy is not anti-inflammatory for A’s. It sounds like you have discovered that eating protein is healthy for you. If you are sure that your blood type is A, then focus on the recommended protein foods for A’s. Let me know how it goes. Once the inflammation decreases you may find that you can more easily absorb iron!

Love,
Marie

Dear Marie,

I’m really enjoying listening to your radio show podcasts.

I’m writing as I’ve had itchy rashes for many years and have consulted with many practitioners and tried lots of things, but the itching just seems to get worse.

If I remember correctly (you have a lot of shows!), you have related skin issues to the crown chakra – but also to the solar plexus and root chakras? Any insight where I should start – or what would be good homework for me?

Thank you so much!
Heidi

Hello Heidi,

Thank you for writing and I’m so sorry that your skin is itchy! When I read your energy, I noted that your seventh chakra has equal parts of energy leaking as it does receiving. The 7th chakra governs the skin (and the central nervous system). With no real energy staying within the chakra, it would be difficult, as it has been, to heal what this chakra governs. If you were sitting in my office, my first question to you would be, “Do you feel conflicted with your beliefs regarding religion or spirituality?” With this type of unbalanced particle movement with this chakra, I would assume their might be confusion. So, if there is, please remind yourself that truth can and will change. Whatever you believe right now is perfect, and what you may believe in the future is also perfect. There is no need to wait until you are sure what spirit or God is, or does. What you feel in this moment is truth for this moment, and truth will change as you evolve.

Love,
Marie
