Ask Marie – March 2012

Have a question for Marie? She answers questions written into her website in her quarterly newsletter. As an Intuitive, Marie is able to read the energy of the author and gain intuitive information to answer the questions regardless if she has ever met the person. Only first names will be used and other identifying qualifiers will be changed to create anonymity.

Thank you as always for writing into my quarterly newsletter!  It’s a pleasure and an honor to answer your questions.  I trust the information will be helpful or lead you to a healthy resolution!

Dear Marie,

An answer to a question in the December Newsletter said to stay in your body – how do you do this?  I do leave my body and if I knew when it was happening, I would stop.

Please help.

Hi Marcia,

Staying in ones body is an art form, and an important part of energy medicine. The term grounded, is represented by the first chakra, and is actualized in the moment. When our energy is in the body we activate the first chakra, a foundational vortex that helps us become present.  Start by asking yourself questions as to why you don’t want to be grounded. Many times we avoid the amazing process of awareness of our existence because we don’t want to know what is really happening in our lives. If were present we might feel the need to change something fundamental in our lives. Many times we avoid change because change always begins inward before it’s reflected outwardly.

There are some lovely exercises in chapter 2 of Intuitive Self-Healing. One of them only takes one minute a day, which I have added below.

One-Minute Grounding
My favorite exercise to help you ground can be done anywhere and in one minute. Its origin is based in Native American tradition.

1. Remove your shoes.

2. Stomp around your house or outdoors (outdoors is best) barefoot.

      3. Make your hands into fists.

4. Punch your fists toward the earth as you stomp.

5. Say this phrase out loud while stomping: “I deserve to be here, and I live here in joy!”

6. Stomp for one minute, every day.

Dear Marie,

Can anything be done intuitively/energy healing for reading disorders?

Dear Kelly,

I read your question when you first sent it, at least a month ago, and it reminded me of a dear friend who often tells me that she has dyslexia. An affliction my mother also proclaims to be troubled by. However, I see both of these women as strong, intelligent, successful and unique individuals. If indeed they do have this disorder I think they are fortunate to see the world differently. I believe their approach to the world and life style choices have been catalysts for others to celebrate the unusual. If you can, appreciate your (or someone you love) individuality. Energy work may help a person see the part of their life they wish would change differently. A shift in perception can also enhance our experience here on earth.

Dear Marie,

I am a Reiki Master who has been volunteering at a local cancer center for more than two years offering free Reiki sessions to patients and their caregivers.

I have a question. Do you feel that placing hands on a patient who just came out of a radiation session (they are often still are ‘warm’) poses any harm to the PHYSICAL body of the practitioner?

If so, are there any related protocols (for practitioners) that you would suggest?

Thank you so much for all you do. You are wonderful.

Dear Bette,

What a good question. As an oncology nurse we had no protocols for patients returning from radiation onto the floor. We had MANY protocols for those receiving chemotherapy. I haven’t been in a hospital for 12 years now so guidelines may have changed. However, radiation treatments dramatically changed, when technology became precise in terms of radiating a location rather than systemically. What I would recommend is to use your intuition. Perhaps a patient might need a little down time before receiving energy work. Or you may feel the need to move energy in their body in preparation for a treatment. If your body isn’t interested in treating someone (especially post treatment) then I would listen to your needs. You can always return to a patient a few hours or days later.

I hope this is helpful and thank you SO much for all you do in the world!

♥ Marie

Dear Marie,

I was fascinated by your interview on Sound True regarding Guardian Spirits.  I have felt mine from time to time and I was wondering how I could go about becoming closer to this spirit.  I would like to know him/her better i.e., name, origins, etc. Is there anything you can tell me about this?  Thank you!

Dear Sharron,

I’m glad you enjoyed the interview.  I love Tami’s energy! Luckily your guides won’t care what you call them. They only want you to choose a name (with their help) that sings to your heart. That way, when you call on them, the emotion the name evokes within you will alert them to your need. I would recommend taking a bath with candlelight. Get really relaxed and call in your guides. Close your eyes and move into a meditative space. Then ask your guides to show you their name. Take whatever comes that feels good. Feelings are the best way the universe communicates with us. Feelings of fear are not about intuition and intuition is generally very spontaneous.  Enjoy, and let me know how it goes.
